Yes. Nannies and caregivers are welcome to participate in place of a parent or guardian. As long as the adult is engaged and willing to participate, they can fully enjoy the experience alongside your child.
No. Cubbie & Me is designed as an interactive class between child and parent (or caregiver). Since the youngest students are only 18 months old, active adult participation is required. If one parent joins in, the other may observe quietly, but we strongly recommend both attend whenever possible.
Not at all. Parents and caregivers of all fitness levels are welcome. Many adults join with no prior experience and find that Taekwondo is a fun and motivating way to get active. The class is designed to be accessible, encouraging, and enjoyable for everyone.
Yes. Earning a black belt is possible through continued training. Children begin building their foundation in Cubbie & Me, though it may take time due to their age. Parents who wish to earn a black belt can transition into our adult martial arts program, which provides a clear and structured path toward black belt achievement.
Each Cubbie & Me class is typically 20 to 30 minutes long, depending on the age group and structure of the day’s lesson. This keeps young children engaged while still delivering strong value and skill-building.
That is completely normal. Our instructors are experienced in working with young children and understand how to gently guide them back into the group. With regular attendance, even the shyest kids begin to open up and shine.
Comfortable, athletic-style clothing is great for the first few classes. Once enrolled, students will receive a uniform (called a dobok) as part of their program. Parents often wear comfortable clothing that allows movement too.
Children can begin Cubbie & Me classes as early as 18 months old, up to 5 years old. This program is tailored specifically for toddlers and young children to explore movement, connection, and basic Taekwondo alongside their parent or caregiver.
